Aviva In-Home Care announces the recent launch of its Aviva ConnectedCare virtual caregiving service.
Aviva ConnectedCare is a remote monitoring program designed for seniors living on their own, who can benefit from proactive 2-5x weekly medication reminders, welfare check-ins, and companionship calls made via phone or video-call apps on a tablet.
24×7 Remote Care Coordinators (RCCs) reach out to ConnectedCare clients and are there to respond to emergency calls, alerting family and emergency personnel when necessary. “It’s a great low-cost alternative to traditional, in-person home care for seniors who either cannot afford traditional, in-person home care services, those who already have a limited amount of hours with existing caregivers but could benefit from a level of off-hours coverage, or those who would like to ease into home care by first utilizing a remote caregiving model,” says Evan Loevner, CEO of Aviva In-Home Care.
Another component of the program is a fall detection service, which uses pattern recognition (through predictive modeling) to actively alert family members when a fall is suspected, or an abnormal behavioral pattern is detected, such as the senior being away from their bed for an extended period of time. “While this is not designed as an emergency (911) service, it’s ideal for proactively preventing harm to a loved one, and prevent some of the issues that arise with other pendant-based emergency response systems.”
